Client confidentiality is part of a counsellor’s ethical practice and continues after the end of the counselling agreement. Every effort is made to ensure that all client information is kept confidential and secure. However there are limits to confidentiality and there are times when counsellors are required by law to release information. These times are:
When a minor and or vulnerable person is at risk of abuse or immediate harm
When a client is in severe and imminent danger of harming themselves or others
When subpoenaed by a court of law
In a medical emergency
At all other times, client information will only be released with the written consent of the client(s) and this consent can be revoked by the client at any time.

Payment is made before or at the end of the session by e-transfer, you only require my email address for this transaction.
I require 24-48 hours notice (by email, text, or phone call) for a cancellation and to reschedule sessions. If this notice is not given and you miss a session, you will be charged and invoiced the full session fee. This policy is in place as there is a high demand for counselling appointments and if you are unable to attend the space can be available for another client. Special circumstances such as emergency or illness will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Clients arriving late for the session will receive the remainder of the appointment time for the full session fee.

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), my fees are covered by many extended healthcare plans and student health benefits but services vary based on the particular extended healthcare provider. Please confirm with your provider regarding the coverage for sessions with an RCC and also confirm what types of counselling (individual, relationship/couples, family) are covered . If you have insurance coverage, payment for our online sessions is made by you and I will email you a receipt with the necessary details so you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
If your plan does not cover Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC), you have the option to write a letter to your employer or benefits provider to request a small change to the plan and ask them to include RCCs in your plan.
